Health care, right where residents live

In 2014, Sojourn House partnered with Women’s College Hospital Crossroads Clinic to improve healthcare access for refugees. The clinic was initiated in response to federal changes that terminated healthcare services to refugees — with those changes, many of our clients were not covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFH), leaving them without access to even basic medical care.

In 2015, the Regent Park Community Health Centre joined the clinic, providing a doctor for an additional day each week. The clinic medical team has worked with hundreds of newly arrived refugees.
