Statement of commitment

Sojourn House is committed to ensuring equal access for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating all individuals with dignity and respect, to identifying, removing and preventing barriers, and to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Communication

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability, and we will provide accessible formats and communication supports on request.

Assistive devices & support persons

People who use assistive devices are welcome to use them at Sojourn House. Support persons accompanying a person with a disability are welcome; a person with a disability will not be prevented from having access to their support person.

Notice of temporary disruptions

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities, Sojourn House will notify the public of the reason, the anticipated duration, and alternative services or options.

Digital accessibility

Sojourn House is working to ensure that its website and digital content meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This redesigned site is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA: semantic HTML, keyboard-operable menus and galleries, visible focus states, sufficient colour contrast, text alternatives for images, and support for reduced motion. If any part of this site creates a barrier for you, please tell us — we will fix it.
